PT Sawit Mas Sejahtera (SMS) is working together with the local COVID-19 Task Force of West Kikim District to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the worker and community surrounding our plantations in Lahat, South Sumatra.
Following the recent news on the death of one of PT SMS employees at AR Bunda Hospital, Lubuk Linggau City, PT SMS is currently waiting for the result from the SWAB test conducted by AR Bunda Hospital that was sent to a lab in Palembang, South Sumatra.
Nevertheless, the safety and wellbeing of our people and community are our main priority. We have since followed COVID-19 protocol based on government direction and best practices.
As part of the SOP, the family of the deceased, have been asked to conduct self-quarantine for 14-days. Based on COVID-19 Task Force of West Kikim District, the family showed no symptoms of COVID-19.
The essential needs are catered by the company on a regular basis to ensure they can conduct self-isolation without being worry.
Since this information gathered, PT SMS has conducted disinfectant spray in the operation area. This process will be continued regularly.
